<A Snippet Of The Band> The British political glam-rock quartet Manic Street Preachers was formed in Blackwood, Wales by James Dean Bradfield (vocals, guitar), Richey James (rhythm guitar), Nicky Wire (bass) and Sean Moore (drums). The Manics landed their first record deal in 1990, signing to the indie label Damaged Goods. After releasing several raw-sounding EPs the band became a favorite of the British music press, who faithfully covered the Manics determined slogans ("every band should break up after one album"), outrageous comments ("we hate Slowdive more than Hitler"), and shocking stunts (Richey James carved the words "4 Real" into his arm during an interview). The group's major-label debut, 1992's Generation Terrorists, spawned several U.K. Top 40 hits, as did 1993's Gold Against the Soul. But following the 1994 release of Holy Bible, James, who was reportedly suffering from various personal problems, mysteriously disappeared. He is assumed to be dead, although the case is still unsolved by the British police. In spite of this tragedy, the Manics continued on as a trio, releasing 1996's Everything Must Go, a huge commercial and critical success in the U.K. that garnered three Brit Awards: Best Live Act, Best Single ("A Design for Life") and Best Album. The Manics' latest CD, This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours, was released in the U.S. in the spring of 1999 and Know Your Enemy was released in 2001 with the band being able to meet Cuba's president Fidel Castro during their visit there.

<From The Album> Antichrist Superstar

<A Snippet Of The Band> This American gothic industrial band, Marilyn Manson originated from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. They were initially called Marilyn Manson and The Spooky Kids, however, after having being recognized by Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails, the band was brought under his management with a shorter name and Manson being recognized as Trent's  protégé. The band's status escalated after releasing their debut album Portrait Of An American Family with hits such as Lunchbox and Cake and Sodomy. It is only when the band released the most controversial album ever in history that they were truly recognized. Antichrist Superstar sold more than a million records all over the world placing the band at number 3 in the US charts. The song 'Beautiful People' was number 2 on the UK charts. It is the start of Manson's controversial career from then on, after he pronounced himself the Antichrist Superstar and was made a high priest in the church of Satan personally by Anton LaVey himself. The Glam-rock album Mechanical Animals won Manson several awards such as the MTV Best Rock Video for the song The Dope Show, Twiggy Ramirez the bassist won the Best Bass Award and for the first time ever, a Manson song was being played all over the airwaves. Long time Manson guitarist, Zim Zum quitted the band by this time and John 5 replaced him, making him the 3rd guitarist of the band since the Gidget Gein died of a heroin overdose. Holy Wood was released in 2001 after Manson spent 2 years writing in his attic avoiding the press when he was made a scapegoat for the notorious Columbine High School shooting. Burning Flag went straight to number 2 on the UK charts and the God, Guns And Government Tour for Holy Wood sold over 12 thousand tickets in 10 minutes surpassing N'Sync's 10 thousand ticket mark in the same amount of time.
